... and my guess is the last thing you want is another email from me in your inbox over your vacation. So with this in mind I am going to force myself to stop blogging for a few weeks. If I can hold myself back, the next note from me will come on the first Wednesday in September.

That said the academic in me cannot resist the temptation to provide a summer reading list. So for those of you that have the time here are four books (of varying length) that I heartily recommend for the beach or the plane or both!

  • 2 books by Tim Shipman - "All Out War!" and "Fall Out" - highly recommended if you want to understand the machinations of Brexit and UK politics...

  • Liaquat Ahamed - "The Lords of Finance" - a wonderful historical account of a time when central bankers ruled the earth...

  • Matthew Walker - "Why We Sleep" - to remind of you why its important to catch those zzz...

Personally I am re-reading (well actually I am audio-booking) John Helyar and Bryan Burrough ... Barbarians at the Gate ... I think it is about time! Have a great Summer break and please if you need anything in the meantime shout!
