For many of you the summer break is looming...
... and my guess is the last thing you want is another email from me in your inbox over your vacation. So with this in mind I am going to force myself to stop blogging for a few weeks. If I can hold myself back, the next note from me will come on the first Wednesday in September.
That said the academic in me cannot resist the temptation to provide a summer reading list. So for those of you that have the time here are four books (of varying length) that I heartily recommend for the beach or the plane or both!
- 2 books by Tim Shipman - "All Out War!" and "Fall Out" - highly recommended if you want to understand the machinations of Brexit and UK politics...
- Liaquat Ahamed - "The Lords of Finance" - a wonderful historical account of a time when central bankers ruled the earth...
- Matthew Walker - "Why We Sleep" - to remind of you why its important to catch those zzz...
Personally I am re-reading (well actually I am audio-booking) John Helyar and Bryan Burrough ... Barbarians at the Gate ... I think it is about time! Have a great Summer break and please if you need anything in the meantime shout!
